Nothofagus gunnii linen tea towel
Printed in white on oatmeal linen, this tea towel features the beautiful branches of the fagus (nothofagus gunnii), a deciduous beech tree, believed to have been in Tasmania's alpine country for 40 million years.
The fagus is the last living Australian species of a group of plants that once covered the wet forests of the ancient continent of Gondwana.
The maker, Stalley Briton, is a former urban planner and interior designer who lives in Hobart, Tasmania. Now a full time designer and maker, her work features unique aspects of nature from the island state. Her aim is to tell a story of the beauty and history of the Australian and Tasmanian landscape.
