The time of COVID was a weird time for most of us, and about half way through the lockdowns and loneliness, the company that I worked for changed hands for a mind-boggling amount of money and immediately started slashing.
I'd always had a two-pronged approach to work, with a corporate job that I enjoyed and an arts practice that kept me sane. So, when my "hello and goodbye" letter arrived, I set out on a path to find a more fulfilling way of working and living. These days, I spend time on my arts practice, work freelance with a marketing agency, and run my online shop that I just love.
My name's Anne-Marie Yee and I'm the owner of O Gosh Shop.
Having sold my own work on Etsy many years ago, I'd seen first hand how artists and craftspeople struggle to have their work appreciated. That's what set the seed for O Gosh. There's clearly a need for a space where handmade products don't have to compete with cheap imports and rock-bottom prices.

The Internet is so big now, and search engines favour big companies that have clout, so it can take forever to find interesting and unique products that suit your style. O Gosh takes away the frustration that comes with endless searching for the perfect gift or something special for yourself. We've done the searching for you by going all over Australia to find beautiful and stylish jewellery, accessories, homewares, art, toys, and pampering products that are made locally by passionate people who value sustainability, ethical business practices and good design.
Beautiful, local and handmade
The buying has been shaped by friends and advisors – most notably my friend, Denise Wyatt, who helped set up the shop and kept me sane during COVID – and that's resulted in an eclectic mix of fabulous Australian-made products from all over the country. We've found a lot of wonderful people making fabulous pieces and we hope you'll enjoy the collection we've put together.
At O Gosh, we only sell beautiful, local and handmade products from fabulous artists, designers, and makers in Australia. We save you time by seeking out well‑crafted and well‑designed products from people who are committed to local and sustainable production. We're open online 24/7 and we sometimes do markets or have a pop-up shop.
Right from the start, we decided to put aside 5% from every sale to donate to arts and cultural organisations, as a way of contributing to the wider community. O Gosh needs to be a lot bigger before we make a real impact, but we've made a start.
In August 2024, we celebrated our second birthday! Thanks for being part of the journey and let's hope you'll join us for many more milestones.
